According to its maker, Dheeraj Kumar, the serial is different in the sense that it shows all the 24 avatars of Lord Vishnu whereas most others have limited themselves to only 10. Rangoli is an Indianmusic television series which airs on DD National every Sunday morning.[1] The word literally means a decoration of colors. The show is produced by Doordarshan. A few seasons were also produced by Creative Eye Limited.[2]Same language subtitling is used in the show to improve literacy in rural areas.[3]

Rangoli first aired in 1988 and was widely watched in the 1990s. It was popular even outside India, especially in places like the Middle East or the United States, which had a large number of people of Indian origin.

In 1997, both Chitrahaar and Rangoli went back to private producers, with Chitrahaar going to Amit Khanna of Plus Channel and Rangoli to Dheeraj Kumar of Creative Eye.[4]

In 2014, it became the highest rated programme with the highest TVM - 4, during the 8.00 am to 9.00 am slot on Sunday creating a record.[5]

During its first few seasons, the show was hosted by Bollywood actressHema Malini.[6] The show was also hosted by television actressShweta Tiwari, Prachi Shah and Neetu Chandra. In July 2019, the show was hosted by Surveen Chawla.[7] Since August 2019, Madhoo is hosting the show.[8]

Dheeraj Dhoopar is an Indian actor and model known for his portrayal of Prem Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka and as Karan Luthra in Kundali Bhagya.[2]

Personal life

Dhoopar was born to Sushil Dhoopar.[3] He married actress Vinny Arora on 16 November 2016 in Delhi. They first met on the sets of Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg.[4]

Early life

Dhoopar started his career as a model and featured in over hundred commercials for brands like Maruti Suzuki, Parker, Dabur Honey, Samsung Galaxy, Videocon Mobile.[5]

Career

Dhoopar made his television debut with Maat Pitaah Ke Charnon Mein Swarg as Ansh.[6] He also played Bhavesh Patil in Star Plus's Behenein, Sushant in Mrs. Tendulkar and Shikhar in Zindagi Kahe – Smile Please.[7] He also made a cameo appearance in Sony TV's Kuch Toh Log Kahenge.[8]

From 2013 to 2017, he portrayed Prem Bhardwaj in Colors TV's Sasural Simar Ka opposite Dipika Kakar.[9][10] He also hosted the grand finale of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.[11]

In 2019, he also hosted Dance India Dance 7 but later quit.[12]
